About this resource
A Practical Guide to Reception Provision
Creating meaningful provision doesn't have to mean matching baskets, expensive resources or changing your classroom every half term.
This beautifully designed guide brings together real examples from my own Reception classroom, alongside honest reflections, practical tips and the lessons I've learnt along the way.
Inside, you'll find inspiration and advice on areas such as loose parts, role play, small world and construction, as well as ideas for creating accessible environments using everyday resources and budget-friendly finds. You'll also discover my top tips for creating provision that genuinely works for the children in front of you.
This isn't a handbook or a checklist of things you "must" have. Instead, it's a collection of ideas, observations and reassurance designed to help you create purposeful, engaging provision that children truly connect with.
Whether you're setting up a new classroom, refreshing your environment or simply looking for inspiration, I hope this guide leaves you feeling encouraged, inspired and confident to trust your own professional judgement.
