About this resource

This EYFS Curriculum Progression Overview provides a clear, at-a-glance view of how themes progress across Nursery (2–3), Preschool (3–4) and Reception (4–5). Designed to support curriculum planning and progression, this resource allows practitioners and leaders to see how learning builds seamlessly across the Early Years Foundation Stage. It highlights the key themes for each year group, making it easy to ensure continuity, avoid unnecessary repetition and create a well-sequenced curriculum. Perfect for curriculum leaders, EYFS practitioners and schools developing or reviewing their long-term plans, this overview is ideal for supporting discussions around progression, transition and curriculum intent. Whether you're creating a new curriculum or refining an existing one, this resource provides a simple visual overview of the learning journey from Nursery through to Reception. Please note: This resource is an overview only and does not include the full curriculum maps or accompanying planning documents. © 2026 EYFS with Mrs S. All rights reserved.
