About this resource

A practical, easy-to-use assessment resource designed to support teachers in monitoring children’s progress across the Reception year. Organised around the seven areas of learning, this resource provides clear, progressive checkpoints at four key points: Baseline End of Autumn Term End of Spring Term End of EYFS Each section brings together the knowledge, understanding and skills children are developing, providing a simple and holistic overview of progress throughout the year. Designed to support professional judgement, the checkpoints can help teachers to identify children’s strengths, highlight gaps in learning and development, inform next steps and recognise where additional support may be needed. Whether used as part of your ongoing assessment process, to support termly pupil progress discussions or to provide a clear overview of development across Reception, this resource offers a practical way to track how children are progressing on their journey towards the Early Learning Goals.
