About this resource

STAIRS Interaction Audit - EYFS Learning Walk A practical, one-page audit tool designed to support EYFS leaders and practitioners in observing and reflecting on high-quality adult interactions through the EEF STAIRS approach. The audit breaks down the six STAIRS principles into 18 clear, observable statements, helping you identify how adults scaffold children's learning, support independence and extend thinking through everyday play. Perfect for EYFS learning walks, peer observations, staff development and professional reflection. Includes simple tick boxes, space to identify strengths and next steps, and a clear, easy-to-use format. A supportive tool for reflecting on practice and developing purposeful, high-quality interactions across your EYFS provision.
