About this resource

The Importance of Play in the Early Years – Parent Presentation A clear and parent-friendly presentation designed to explain why play is so important in the Early Years and how children are actually taught within the EYFS. Perfect for parent meetings, workshops, induction sessions or sharing with families who may wonder what learning through play really looks like. The presentation explores how much learning is happening during play, the role of continuous provision, adult interactions and the balance between child-initiated play, adult-guided learning and direct teaching. A useful resource for helping parents understand that play and teaching are not opposites. High-quality Early Years practice brings together purposeful play, carefully planned provision, meaningful adult interaction and explicit teaching to help children build knowledge, skills, independence and confidence. Fully editable PowerPoint presentation, so you can adapt the wording to suit your own setting and approach.
