About this resource

Want to develop oracy across your Early Years setting, but not sure where to start? This ready-to-use staff training explores what high-quality oracy looks like in everyday EYFS practice, with a focus on the things that really make a difference: meaningful interactions, thoughtful provision, vocabulary, adult modelling and giving every child opportunities to communicate. Rather than treating oracy as another lesson to fit into the timetable, the training looks at how it can be developed naturally through continuous provision, routines, stories and the conversations already happening throughout the day. Practical examples, real classroom images and reflection prompts help practitioners consider their own practice and identify realistic next steps. Included: • 16-page PDF staff training • Practical examples of high-quality adult interactions • Ideas for developing oracy through continuous provision • Vocabulary and language development guidance • Support for creating opportunities for every child to communicate • Team reflection and next-step prompts • Further reading and supporting resources Suitable for EYFS leaders, teachers, practitioners, TAs and whole Early Years teams. © 2026 EYFS with Mrs S.
