About this resource

Initial Sound Loop Cards- Phase 2 A fun and interactive phonics activity designed to help Reception children practise recognising and identifying initial sounds. This set includes 12 loop cards, featuring the sounds s, a, t, p, i, n, m, d, g, o, c and k. Each child receives a card with a picture and a sound. The first child begins by saying, for example: “I have a snake. Who has m?” The child holding the m sound then responds with the matching picture: “Mouse! I have m. Who has…?” The game continues until all 12 cards have been linked together to complete the loop! Perfect for whole-class phonics, small-group activities or partner work. Simply print, cut, laminate and play!
