About this resource

Letter Formation Mats Designed for EYFS and KS1 children, this resource provides a clear, visual reference for forming all 26 lowercase letters correctly, helping children develop confidence, consistency and independence in their handwriting. Each letter includes a green starting dot, numbered strokes and directional arrows to guide children through the correct formation. The letters are also colour-coded into familiar letter families, helping children recognise similarities in the movements needed to form different letters.
